Paypal is the dominant payment processor on the internet today. It is hard to go just two sites now without finding someone who accepts this as a form of payment, it has made buying things
dangerously easy! So how do you flip the coin and make money using PayPal?
There are a few different options, let’s look at each in turn:
Blogging:
Blogging is the act of setting up a website with a blog installed on it (or using one of the free versions that host it for you) which enables you to quickly post your thoughts/articles online whenever you want.
The reason this has become so popular is because it takes away almost all of the technical aspects of creating a site (depending how much you want to customise you site). So a blog can now be installed with just a few clicks and then all posts made with a few clicks.
To make money using PayPal and your blog then you can either sell services, like doing reviews for people, maybe writing articles for them, or try affiliate marketing or even selling your own books through the blog. The blog is the way you advertise to people so that as they are drawn to the content on your blog they get to see your adverts for the other items and may buy.
Affiliate marketing:
This is the art of getting people to visit a specific site using your link. You place links on your blog to sites that you want to make money from and get people to click through those links and visit the sites, if they then buy something you get a percentage of that sale.
Most affiliate schemes pay by cheque or direct bank deposit, but paydotcom.com pays straight into your PayPal account!
An ecommerce store:
The barriers to entry on the internet are very low, so anyone can open a store now and start to sell items online without much capital invested.
Pick yourself a niche, find somewhere to get stock from (you could even dropship things where you take payment for an item and then pay another company some of that money and they ship the goods straight to the customer for you), get your website setup and start to get people to it who will hopefully buy something!
If you decide to do this then you can use PayPal as your main method of payment and get instant cash sent to you every time you make a sale.
These are just the top three methods I have touched upon, there are many more ways to make money using PayPal. I have reviewed the top 3 products which teach you exactly how to start making money online, click here to see the reviews.

20 WAYS TO IMPROVE
A simple yet powerful idea I learned from Earl Nightingale is to grab a blank piece of paper (or a blank computer screen) and brainstorm a list of 20 ways to improve. You can write down anything — ways to increase your income, improve your health, better your relationships, etc. The focus is on generating ideas to make your life better.
I find this usually takes 30-60 minutes, and I like to do it first thing in the morning before breakfast. If you do it every day for a week, you generate 140 ideas. It’s OK to generate more than 20 ideas per session, but 20 is the minimum to shoot for.
The first 10 ideas will usually come quickly. The next 5 take a bit more effort, and the last 5 really force me to think. Most ideas tend to be junk, unworkable for one reason or another, but often it’s idea number 19, 20, or 21 that turns out to be golden. The best ideas are those that are very simple but which have a decent positive impact.
Instead of “20 Ways to Improve,” you can also brainstorm with a more specific intent, like “20 Ways to Generate Extra Income” or “20 Ways to Increase Productivity.” And if you’re an office manager, try having all of your employees generate 20 ideas to improve operations, increase sales, improve morale, etc. One good idea can easily be worth the time investment, not to mention the eye-opening effect of reading everyone’s ideas. Many managers offer small cash bonuses ($5-50) for good ideas that end up being implemented

5 steps to a high Adsense eCPMeCPM
eCPM, or effective cost per thousand impressions, is a figure used to represent how well
monetized your websites is. If your eCPM is $1 that means that your revenue is $1 per 1000
impressions - $1 is a low eCPM. If your eCPM is $60 that means that your revenue is $60 per
1000 impressions - $60 is a high eCPM. For Adsense, eCPM depends on two factors; the CTR
(Click Through Rate) and the CPC (Cost Per Click). In this article I will discuss my 5 step
process to achieving a high eCPM.
Write about high paying topics
The CPC your ad clicks provide depends mainly on the topic you
write about. For example, ads about finance pay far higher than ads about MySpace so if you can
achieve equal traffic to a finance and a MySpace website the finance site will be more profitable,
although MySpace websites may be easier to build traffic to.If you have already created a
website on a specific topic you can still write about high paying topics within your niche. For
example, if you were writing an article on web hosting using the keywords ‘paid web hosting’
will display higher paying ads than the keywords ‘free web hosting’. Small changes like this in
your content can create big changes to your CPC and in turn, your eCPM.
Improve ad placement
CTR)The easiest way to increase CTR is to improve your ad placement
to make your ads more visible. According to the Google Heatmap fr maximum visibility your
ads should be placed front and center, at the top of your main content.
Placing your ads according to the Google Heatmap does have great effect, in my experience the
CTR is generally between 10% and 40%. One page where I place my ads like in the method
above is Free Letterhead Templates which you can see in the following screenshot or by
following the link. As you can see, the ad block is in the middle of the content near to the top and it does convert well.
Decrease bounce rates
Bounce rate is the percentage of visitors who leave without visiting more than one page of your
site, so they reach a single page then bounce away from your site without reading more. If your
bounce rate is high then your visitors are likely closing the browser window or tab holding your
website, if this is the case they aren’t clicking ads! Decreasing your website’s bounce rate will
increase your CTR and eCPM. The bounce rate does get skewed depending on your traffic
sources though, for example, search engine visitors bounce less than StumbleUpon visitors. Here is some bounce rates to target -
Sales page: 75%
Article website: 50%
Wallpaper website: 25%
focus on targeted traffic
I just
mentioned that search engine visitors bounce less than StumbleUpon visitors, well they also
click more ads! A huge spike of traffic from social bookmarking websites can be nice but if you
want to achieve a high eCPM you should focus on building search engine traffic or traffic from
related websites. The reason StumbleUpon visitors bounce a lot and don’t click ads is because
they are not very interested in your content, whereas a visitor coming from Google searched for
exactly what you are offering them so they are less likely to immediately leave and more likely
to click ads (or make a purchase).
Avoid being smart priced
If you send mostly rubbish traffic who don’t convert to sales for the
Adwords advertisers your Adsense account can be smart priced, which means that your CPC
drops dramatically to increase the advertisers’ ROI. Luckily, avoiding smart pricing is not
difficult, just make sure not to trick your visitors into clicking and stay within the Google terms
of service, such as not asking people to click your ads.If you complete the 5 steps I listed above
you should now be looking at a CTR between 10% and 50% and an eCPM above $10. Now all you need is traffic and you will be earning a nice income.

How to Promote Your Blog
The question has been asked more times then I care to count: “How do I promote my blog?”
My answer: “One post at a time…”
It’s not sexy, it’s not a quick fix, it’s not a secret URL that you submit to and the rest is done for
you. I’m sorry - I have no secrets for you - I wish that I did. The only way that I know how to
make your blog a success is “one post at a time”. I will say that I think there’s more to this
answer than meets the eye. The answer actually consists of two parts – that’s what we’ll look at in this article.
Part 1. - Content Is King, Really?
Give people what they want and do it consistently. You do that and people will visit you – and – continue to visit you.
When the “How do I promote my blog” question is asked in forums it usually doesn’t take long
for someone to reply with, “Content is king.” Really? Is content king? All websites have content
- even the dancing hamsters is content. I would submit to you that giving people what they
want is truly king. If that be content, then have relevant content. If it’s driving directions, then
give good directions. If it’s discount prices on jewelry, then have quality jewelry at low prices. If
it’s nude pictures of Jennifer Love Hewitt then she best not be wearing clothes. And if people
want to see dancing hamsters, then give it to them - give the people what they want.
There’s a reason your visitors came to your site. Are you fulfilling their expectations? If people
visit your blog one day and you’re talking about PHP coding techniques but the next time they
visit your blog you are reviewing the movie you saw over the weekend, you may find yourself
having a hard time building a steady core of followers.
It’s not that you can’t do that with your blog; you can. That’s exactly what I do with my personal
blog. I blog about anything I feel like blogging about: movies, music, Jennifer Love Hewitt,
whatever. The problem is that blogs like that have no niche to fill. With no niche you have no
target audience. That’s ok, if you don’t want expansive audience.
Give people what they want and do it consistently. Being a one-hit-wonder in a band or in
blogging is not a good thing. I take that back, being a one-hit-wonder in a band can still make you
millions these days, but in blogging it’s no good. Try and have quality content on a regular basis.
It doesn’t have to be daily, just on a regular basis. You may decide to post once a week or twice a
week, whatever, just be consistent. If you post three times a week for a month then that’s what your audience will come to expect.
I would encourage you to post quality over quantity. Don’t post just for the sake of posting. If
everybody else has covered the unveiling of Apple’s iPhone then you may want to let it go. Ask
yourself, “What can I bring to the table?” If you can take an angle that you feel hasn’t been
covered then by all means, continue, but if you are just going to post a “me too” post, skip it.
Give people what they want and do it consistently. You do that and people will visit you – and – continue to visit you.
Part 2. – One Post at a Time…
It also needs to be said that if you are going to comment for the sole purpose of trying to appease the search engines, you can skip it.
“One post at a time…” I never said that the post had to be on your own blog! Get out there and
visit other people’s blogs. Be friendly and comment. I visit about half a dozen blogs a day, I
usually comment about four times a day. Again, don’t just post for the sake of posting, have something to say.
If you’re just going to post something like, “Hello, nice blog, please visit my blog”, then skip it.
Try and contribute something to the conversation at hand. If you can’t do that, then maybe you should not be in the business of blogging.
Also, commenting on other blogs is a great way to sharpen your blogging tongue. I often find
myself returning to my own blog spurred on by something I read on another blog. I will often
comment and then expand upon my comment back in a new post on my own blog.
It also needs to be said that if you are going to comment for the sole purpose of trying to appease
the search engines, you can skip it. Most blogs add the no-follow tag to links there by
neutralizing the value of the link to the search engines. So once again, bring something to the
table.
There’s no quick fix for promoting your blog. It takes work, good old fashioned blue-collar work.
If you like your blog’s topic enough then there’s a good chance you won’t mind putting in the
time and it won’t feel like work at all. Making a successful blog starts with one post at a time.

Promoting Your Blog
This is in no way a science or guarantee; it's simply a few suggestions with which many bloggers have found success.
Set your blog to Send Pings.
When this setting is activated, your blog will be included in various "recently updated" lists on the web as well as other blog-related services.
Activate Your Navbar.
Do this and you might start to see the effects right away! One of the features on the Blogger Navbar is a button called NextBlog - click it to visit the next Navbar-enabled blog.
Install Email This Post.
If you use Email This Post on your blog, people will be able to forward your posts to friends. This may not have an immediate impact on your site stats but it enables others to publicize your blog for you.
Turn on Post Pages.
By publishing every post as its very own web page with Post Pages, you ensure that your entries are way more link-able and more attractive to search engines.
Turn on your site feed. When people subscribe to your site feed in their newsreaders, they're very likely going to read your post.
Add your blog to Blogger's listings.
When you add your blog to our listings it shows up in Nextblog, Recently Updated, and other places. It's like opting-in to traffic.
Write quality content and do it well.
If your "style" is bad writing, worse grammar, no punctuation, and an ugly design, that might be okay for a niche crowd. But the idea here is to achieve mass appeal, so fix yourself up a bit.
regular updates.
Simple: the more you blog, the more traffic you'll get.
Think of your audience.
A good way to build an audience is to speak to one in particular. When you keep your audience in mind, your writing gains focus. Focus goes a long way toward repeat visitors.
Keep search engines in mind.
There are a few things you can do to make your blog more search engine friendly. Use post titles and post page archiving. This will automatically give each of your post pages an intelligent name based on the title of your post. Also, try to be descriptive when you blog. A well crafted post about something very specific can end up very near the top results of a search.
Keep your posts and paragraphs short.
Strive for succinct posts that pump pertinent new information into the blogosphere and move on. Keep it short and sweet so visitors can pop in, read up, and click on.
Put your blog URL in your email signature.
Think of how many forwarded emails you've seen in your day, and just imagine the possibilities.
Sumbit your address to blog search sites and directories. People look for blog content at Technorati every day, are you on their list? You should be. Submit your blog's url to Technorati, Daypop, Blogdex, Popdex, and any other site of that ilk you come across.
Link to other blogs. Links are the currency of the blogosphere and it takes money to make money so start linking.
Install a blogroll.
It's a very simple yet effective social networking scheme and it has the same result as a simple link if not stronger: traffic! So if you don't have one yet, sign up for a blogroll and get that link-list going.
Be an active commenter.
This is in the same vein as linking. Most comment systems also provide a way for you to leave a link back to your blog which begs a visit at the very least. So if you feel inspired, leave a comment or two in your blog travels. It behooves you.

How To Build Traffic To Your Blog
But a blog is like a website. "Write and they will come" isn't exactly a magic formula to bring in traffic by the boatload.
If you need to promote your website in order to build traffic to it, you need to promote your blog as well.
Here are some ways you can become a well-read and influential blogger.
1. Write Posts That People Will Want To Read
This should be common sense, but many marketers tend to forget that their readers are real people and that you need to use the principles of online copywriting to make your headlines and copy interesting to your readers.
If you write posts that people enjoy reading, they will reward you by returning to your blog regularly.
Make your posts conversational, pithy and topical. Keep them short and stick to one topic per post.
Write often and regularly so that both readers and search engines visit your blog more often.
I cover this topic in detail in my article on "Search Engine Optimization For Blogs"
But here are the most important rules to follow to get your posts listed for keywords of your choice.
Make sure your blog URL contains the primary keyword you want to optimize for
Use your primary keywords in the title of your post
Use your secondary keywords in the body of your post
Use your keywords in the anchor text of links in the body of your posts
3. Submit Your Blog and RSS Feed To Directories
If you publish a blog you should submit your blog and RSS feed to big directories like Yahoo and Dmoz, as well as the numerous blog directories and search engines.
Here is the best list I've found of places to submit your feed or blog, compiled by Luigi Canali De Rossi, who writes under the pseudonym Robin Good.
4. Ping The Blog Services
There are a number of services designed specifically for tracking and connecting blogs. By sending a small ping to each service you let them know you've updated your blog so they can come check you out.
Bookmark the Ping-O-Matic ping results page so you can visit it and quickly ping a number of services with a single click.
5. Build Links To Your Blog
I recommend the methods here as the best ways to get links pointing to your blog.
Link to your blog from each page on your main website
Post legitimate comments on other blogs with related topics
Offer to exchange links with other similarly themed blogs and websites
6. Edit Your Blog Posts Into Articles
One of the best methods for promoting your website is to write articles and submit them to article directories.
The suggestion for extending this to edit your blog posts into articles and submit them to directories came from the coach at "Explode Blog Traffic" who also has other noteworthy suggestions at his blog.
7. Create Buzz About Your Blog
Creating a buzz about your blog posts and topic in the local and online media will give your marketing a viral component.
Create a controversy around your blog or it's topic.
Distribute bumper stickers or other merchandise with your blog's URL and tagline.
Write a press release about something newsworthy and tie it in with your blog topic.
8. Capture Subscribers By Email
It may seem strange for a blogger to send out updates by email, but email is still the #1 choice of most people who want to receive news and information.
Using a free service like Bloglet to manage your subscriptions is easy and it allows your subscribers to manage all their subscriptions from one interface.
However, if you want more control over your list and don't mind mailing out the updates yourself, you can use an autoresponder system to capture and follow-up with subscribers.
RSS Responder is a new script that allows you to keep in touch and follow-up with your subscribers without the hassle of email.
These tips should give you a good start to building your blog traffic.

3 Tips For Promoting Your Blog For That 10,000 Visitors Per Day
1. Submit your blog posts to Bookmarking Services
Go sign-up for OnlyWire.
A lot of people already use this, but for those that do not know about OnlyWire, it lets you submit a page to over 20 bookmarking services at once (delicious, magnolia, etc.).
You may have to spend about 30 minutes signing up for all the services but it's worth. Just a note, some of the services are not accepting anymore registrations or are down. It doesn't matter, just sign-up for those that works!
2. Use Pinging Services
When you are done creating your new website, you can go to Pingoat. Pingoat is a service that pings or notifies a number of services that keep track of weblogs and publish them
pinging, you let the services know that your blog has been updated and hence, they crawl and index your site, publishing your blog contents, thus increasing your blog's popularity
Hey... if you write articles on EzineArticles or on Squidoo, you can used it as well.
Also check this out: FeedShark
This service is like Pingoat, but has a few more services. Quite a number of overlap services compared to Pingoat but do not worry, it will just cancel out any after your first submission.
3. Remember to Post to Social Bookmarking
As I have mentioned in the previous post, never underestimate this traffic source as it has the potential to bring huge traffic to your blog. Submit your blog post to Digg and Reddit.
Also, submitting to Digg and Reddit can be great for your site to rank as well for your targeted keyword of your article or post
Remember to write your long tail phrase or keyword in the Title when submitting to Digg. I feel it does give my blogs and articles a nice little jump in rank.
Lastly, my personal favorite: StumbleUpon. Get the StumbleUpon Toolbar
Because, I find that StumbleUpon has been the biggest traffic generator for me. It can bring in thousands of visitors
You can submit your blog to StumbleUpon (via the toolbar, favorite it and Like It) and get over 1,000 pageviews a day, just from StumbleUpon traffic!!
And, don't quote me: If you have 4-5 friends who you can work with to submit your sites, and get all friends to hit the "I Like It" button in StumbleUpon, and you are almost guaranteed a couple hundred hits!!
So, get excited about getting that 10,000 visitors a day with these tips.

Making Money With Adsense. OR: "Money Words"- don't bother
I make a decent bit with adsense, and it's increasing all the time.I've never once tried to construct "money pages" (ie, mesothelioma, legal advice, and my guess would be that I'm making quite a bit more than most of the people that DO target these pages.so what's the best way to make money with adsense, then? find keywords that're decent- not ultra high, but ones that at least have a respectable number of ads (you can check by plugging it into google, or by using the DP adsense sandbox and pointing the url to a similar site).
pick medium value keywords, but pick words that're easy to drive traffic to.sure, mesothelioma may pay a lot per click, but how much genuine mesothelioma traffic do you really think you can get? this word isn't a "secret"- it's posted about in pretty much any forum on adsense out there. so many SEOs out there have probably tried taking a jab at trying to rank well for this (and many other) "money keywords."
getting a decent reliable revenue from money words is a very, very difficult task.instead, pick high volume searches that aren't very commercial- there are TONS of them out there. with a moderate amount of effort, there are some keywords I've found that I feel I could probably get huge impressions for- for my newest one, I'm hoping to have ~100K pageviews a day in a few months.say 50% of those pageviews become adsense impressions- 50K impressions with a 1% CTR at 20 cents a click is already 100$ a day.
just try to do some keyword research- think of everyday things that people will be searching for en masse. it works quite well, and it's a lot easier to optimize for than mesothelioma

Blogging for Profit - You Need a Long Term Plan

How Can You Make Money with Your Blog?
Pay Per Click Advertisement System
Pay per click system is a system that will pay you when a web surfer clicks on the advertisement. You can allocate adv space for these system and you can start earning money. One of the most famous pay per click (PPC) advertisement systems will probably be Google Adsense. Besides Google Adsense, there are still other PPC systems such as Adbrite. One of the drawback of PPC system is that quite a number of webmasters report that PPC system will generate less money than other systems. To earn more money by using PPC systems, we have to go back to the idea content is king. Since the system will spider your blog and determine the advertisements which are most related to the contents, it will be better to write the contents with a focus. For example, you can run a blog on wedding and all the blog entries are on wedding. In this way the advertisements will also be about wedding. Since your blog is on wedding and it will probably attract more people who are interested in the topic. And this lift the chance of generating more clicks to the advertisements.
Affiliate Programs
Another way to make money with your blog is to join affiliate programs. You will put banners or text links on your blog and you will get paid when people click the banner, visiting the websites of the affiliate program and place order. This will be a more difficult way to make money than using PPC system but you will probably earn more if you run it well. There are certainly many other ways to make money with your blog. For example, you can sell your adv spaces to other companies or websites. This of course will need very hard work. But there is no free lunch in the world. There is no way to make money without effort.

Creating A Money Making Article
1. First you have to write a title that catches attention and has the right keywords in it. This has the keyword phrase "money making article," and apparently caught your attention. Make the title relevant to the article content, of course, or the reader will feel tricked, and may stop reading.
2. Have a short description that pulls the reader in. You might use the first couple sentences of the article for this. Tell the readers what they will find in the article, and leave them curious. You read this far, so that seems to be working.
3. Have useful information or good stories. It is even better if you have both.
4. Put the keywords in the body of the article, and in sub-headings, so search engines can find your article. Note that I used "money making article" in the sub-heading above, and I just used it again.
5. Create an "authors resource box" that makes the reader want to visit your site. Talk very little about yourself and more about why the reader should go to your web site. I'll be watching to see how well mine works in this case. Be sure the link to your website works.
6. Make money from visitors to your site. You could be selling your own products, or getting a commission for selling other people's products, or just be getting paid for the advertising there.
7. Submit your article to the best article directories on the web. This is where you "give away" your articles. Directory visitors read them there, and other web site owners take them and use them. Generally, they can't change a word in your article, and they have to make that link to your site (in the author's resource box) active. This is how you get traffic to your website.
8. Let the readers learn something, but let them know there is more. This gets them to your site, to learn more. For example, I outlined the basic process above, but I'm leaving out the list of the best article directories to submit to. Of course, in the resource box I will mention that it is on my website. This is how you create a money making article.

The 7 best ways to make money online
The following methods of making money online are not listed in order of preference or earning power. They are simply a brief introduction to the most popular and efficient ways to generate a part-time, or even a full-time income using your PC working at home, or anywhere else you may have access to the internet. For some a website is essential, for others you don’t need one.
I suggest you bookmark this page for future reference.
1 - Affiliate programs
If you have a website, and you want to make money from it you should consider joining an affiliate program. If you don’t have a website but are willing to learn how to build one be sure to read the simple guide to ‘Designing and Building a Website’
Becoming an affiliate means you can make money by advertising and promoting the products of other merchants from your website. This is generally done by placing banners and text links on your site. When a visitor clicks on a merchant’s banner or text link they arrive at the merchant’s website whereupon the visitor may make a purchase from which you will earn a commission. The results of promoting someone else’s products however, can vary enormously. Simply putting up a banner or a text link on your website is unlikely to generate much commission, unless you receive many thousands of daily visitors. But if you’re willing to learn a few simple marketing techniques, such as pre-selling through recommendations, even with a small website you could soon start building up a useful income.
You can apply what you learn from affiliate marketing to sell almost anything you can think of. But ideally your first priority should be to sign up with merchants that sell products your website visitors are interested in. For example, if you wanted to advertise pet food on a ‘Tips for breeding dogs’ website then you’re much more likely to generate a sale and earn a commission than you would if you placed the advert on a site for ‘How to build a PC’ because most of your visitors simply wouldn’t be interested in pet food. So always look for products and services that are compatible with the content of your site.
You may be surprised at the range of products and services available from merchants who require website publishers to promote their stuff. To get some idea I suggest you take a peek at one of the best affiliate network directories on the net Commission junction. It’s free to join and there is no charge to link up with any of the merchants listed. Everything is simple and straightforward. You get quick access to the html code for all the banners and text links you need as well as daily statistics of how many sales you make and which advertisements are working well and which ones aren’t. All you need to get started is some basic knowledge of how to cut and paste the linking code into your web pages. This is the code that has your affiliate identification embedded into it to accurately track all sales.
Promoting other peoples’ products through an affiliate program is a useful way to generate income using your website. You don’t need to hold any stock or have the responsibility to fulfill the order or take payment. You simply get paid for introducing the buyer to the seller and when a sale is made your obligation ends there.
There are a number of ebooks and articles available online that can help you learn more about affiliate marketing. My advice is to seek out the people who are already making substantial incomes from promoting affiliate programs and learn from them. People like Rosalind Gardner for example, whose monthly turnover is in excess of $20.000 per month, simply from promoting affiliate programs using simple methods that anyone can learn and put into practice. Rosalind has written an ebook entitled The Super Affiliate Handbook which reveals her successful techniques to creating a super affiliate income.
Another proponent of affiliate marketing is James Martell who makes tens of thousands of dollars a month promoting other peoples products and services. He also has a very good course in affiliate marketing which is packed with information and knowledge that have taken him years to aquire. You can read more about his affiliate marketing course by clicking here.
The Internet Marketing Center also has some excellent advice for everyone new to affiliate marketing. You can sign up for their excellent affiliate program and gain access to their affiliate training and resource center for free. As experts in the field of internet marketing their products are second to none. The brilliant internet marketing course which can be found at the Internet Marketing Center is packed with everything you need to know about internet marketing and is widely regarded as the best available.
2 - Google Ads
An alternative to joining and promoting a merchant’s affiliate program is to incorporate Google AdSense advertising on your website.
Here is an example:
Consider this... Google is one of the most successful companies online, in a similar league to Yahoo! and MSN. Next time you use Google and type in a search term take a look at the column down the right side of the page when the search results show up.
What you'll see is a selection of small text ads which are related to your search query. These are what is known as PPC (pay per click) advertisements. In other words, whoever has placed the advertisement with Google has done so on the basis that every time their advert is clicked on, the advertiser pays a small sum to Google. So the advertiser gets good quality targeted traffic to their site, Google makes some extra cash, and everybody is happy. But it doesn’t stop there, because Google, in their almighty wisdom, allows you to put these ads on your website too, and they’re willing to pay you a percentage of their commission. It’s a win win situation. What makes this so brilliant is that the ads that you display on your website will be mostly related to the content you provide, and statistics show that visitors are much more likely to click on these ads than banners. All you need do to get started is apply to Google first, and once accepted they will provide the code which generates the ads to appear on your site.
Notice I said that your site needs to be accepted first. That’s because Google has a few rules that need to be adhered to in order for your site to be accepted. This is neccessary to keep their advertisers happy and raise the standards of good search results.
To read their guidelines to what is acceptable and what isn’t click hereThere are many individuals and companies who are also making very good money from actually paying for these ads to be shown. Affiliates for example. We’ve learnt how affiliate programs work and how displaying Google ads on your site can also make you extra money, but what if you don’t have a website? Is it possible to still be an affiliate and make money from an affiliate program?
Absolutely! By utilising the PPC (pay per click) opportunity that Google and similar PPC search engines provide, even someone without a website can join an affiliate program and promote a merchant’s products or service using their own affiliate links. Providing you follow Google’s editorial guidelines and any terms and conditions as stated by the merchant that relate to the use of PPC advertising to promote their products, there shouldn’t be any problems.
Unlike the time and effort involved in planning, designing, building and hosting a website, setting up an account with Google and making money from Google AdWords is quick and simple. Providing, of course, you research your market correctly and apply some easy to learn marketing knowledge first to ensure good results,
Chris Carpenter has made an excellent income using these techniques and has written a book entitled Google Cash which is recommended reading for any affiliates wishing to embark on this money making system.
3 - Info products
Digital products are ideal for selling on the net because they cost next to nothing to produce and are easily duplicated with no overheads such as printing and packaging costs. Some of the highest paying affiliate commissions are available from promoting ebooks, marketing courses and software products. This is because of the high mark-up profits which are possible, allowing resellers and promoters to make between 25% - 50% commission on each sale.
A whole range of downloadable products can be found at ClickBank including some of the best information products available online. If you want to seek out and promote products with exceptional profit margins, Clickbank is the place to visit.
Of course the big money is made by the originators of these products. Imagine creating an ebook and having hundreds, possibly even thousands of affiliates signing up to sell your book? It’s not so difficult as it sounds. If you sign up with ClickBank to sell your digital product through their marketing program, you also have the advantage of having thousands of potential affiliates ready to promote your product on their websites using simple tracking links that Clickbank provides. As long as your product is of a high standard and has little competition, you are likely to get plenty of interest. Affiliates are usually generously rewarded with high commissions ranging betwen 25% to 50% but because you’re selling a digital product your overheads are practically zero.
The article ’ebook writing’ by Miguel Alvarez will give you a brief introduction to writing your own ebook. For a more comprehensive writing guide I recommend you read Ken Evoy’s ’Make Your Knowledge Sell‘ Ken provides first class information on how to produce and sell your own information products as well as how to become proficient in pre-selling products you choose to promote.
Ebooks are not the only option though. Have you ever considered designing your own software?
Too complicated! I hear you say? Don’t know anything about programming?
Well actually you don’t need too. It’s now possible to create simple programs that you can sell, or use as a promotional giveaway.MYOS (Make Your Own Software) is a piece of software that allows you to use your creativity to develop simple, but exclusive digital products of your own. It’s the perfect tool to boost your sales or mailing list. Click here to find out more about it’s features and benefits.
Talking of mailing lists..... that brings us to our next money making method....
4 - Newsletters and e-zines
Newsletters and electronic magazines (e-zines) are a great way to build up a customer base and a trusting relationship with people prepared to deal with you on a regular basis. This is the cornerstone of most successful businesses whether established online or offline.
Having a list of subscribers that you can regularly mail to puts you in the perfect position to bring related products or services to your customers attention. Whether you provide your own saleable products, electronic information or otherwise, or join partners as an affiliate and promote other merchants goods, the process of churning out a regular newsletter can seem suddenly more inviting.
Starting a newsletter or e-zine is also a good way to learn and improve your marketing skills. Public relations, effective advertising, producing useful information that people are actively seeking out, and building a subscriber list through opt-in subscription methods, are all essential skills required for making money online. Some successful e-zines are even produced and distributed without the need for a website. Building up a strong subscriber list can be achieved simply by advertising in the right places. An effective advert and a simple link to your mailing list subscription manager may be all that you need. Check out the ‘ListApp’ service at Server.com for more details about how to start your and run your own mailing list.
If you need inspiration to think up ideas or learn how other e-zines are proving to be popular, take a look at the two e-zine directories Ezine-universe and Ezine Search where the choice of subject matter is huge. If you see an opening for an untapped market then you could be on to a winner. Start building your subscriber list now! If you can reach thousands of people interested in a topic of information or a service that you can provide, then you could turn this to your advantage and make sales. Not only that, once your subscriber list has reached 5,000 or more you could easily make more money by including paid for advertising.
Getting people to subscribe to your newsletter or e-zine isn’t that difficult. All you need to do to get people to sign up is to entice them with a free offer for something you know they can’t resist. For example, a free e-book, or free software. Providing they perceive the offer as being valuable and able to save them money, you can’t fail to get a steady stream of new subscribers.
Fact: It’s a lot easier to make follow-up sales to existing customers who you have a good relationship with, than trying to sell to someone who has never dealt with you before. So build up trust by providing new subscribers with a first class service and you are far more likely to succeed in your new venture.
5 - E-commerce website
Many people assume that the best way to make money online is to set up a shop selling products direct from a website. While this is true for the majority of well established online businesses, it can be a costly and daunting proposition for newcomers who want to set up a business online for the very first time. If you have products you want to sell on the net but want to test the waters first before making a major commitment you should consider Pay Pal as your online payment payment processing system. It’s free to join, very simple to set up and you can use it to configure your own shopping cart to fit in with the design of your site. Whether you have a range of products or single items to sell, Pay Pal is a quick and easy way to start selling products online.
An alternative to using Pay Pal is to use an all-in-one solution such as Atomic Shops which allows any type of business to set up a fully functioning website in minutes, whether you simply want to promote your business or sell goods online.
If you already have your site built and are seeking a good web hosting service, consider using MidPhase Hosting who offer fast, reliable web hosting and for a small monthly fee can provide everything you need to set up your own e-commerce website. Alternatively, the host4profit web hosting service is well worth considering because host4profit also gives you access to a wealth of marketing information from some of the leading marketers on the internet.
If you don’t have products to sell but still like the idea of having your own e-commerce website you can sign up with SFI and promote your own online store complete with a whole range of items to sell in various categories. SFI is an easy solution to starting your own online business. But like all the other methods described here, it requires good marketing skills to get visitors flocking to your store. Without targeted visitors you won’t make a penny! SFI is free to join and is ideal for anyone wishing to start up an online business with a zero budget.
6 - Selling stuff on eBay
Selling stuff on eBay is easy. Most of us have heard reports about how some individuals and businesses are making massive incomes from selling on eBay. But like any other business there’s no magic formula to instant success. You need to learn the ropes first. Start small and work your way up.
Sole traders and big companies are using eBay as a way increase their sales. But it’s not a guaranteed way to make money online. There are charges to consider before calculating the profits you might expect from selling through their auction pages. If you’re new to the concept of selling on eBay I suggest you read their guidelines thoroughly. Make a note of their listing and selling fees and consider all other costs you might encounter regarding postage, packing and the use of payment processing services such as Pay Pal.
If you’re not registered with eBay you will need to register first before you can start to buy or sell. Click here to go and register now.
Try testing response rates by putting a small, select number of items up for auction first. Choose products that allow you to realise a good profit margin. After eBay’s listing and selling fees, plus delivery and payment processing charges are taken into consideration, there should still be room for making a profit. At the same time, choose products that you can afford to make a small loss on if necessary. After all, if they don’t sell you will still need to pay the listing fee. You could even lose money on the sale if you don’t follow some simple rules to minimise losses.
Whole books have been written about how to trade successfully on eBay. One of the most popular ebooks available online is written byJim Cockrum, the author of ‘The silent sales machine hiding on ebay’ His experience and techniques have helped many people to make money using the most popular auction site online. Another good source of advice is Ken Evoy’s Make Your Net Auction Sell. With the information provided by these two bestselling authors, and by getting some basic experience of trading on eBay, you will soon learn to see the possibilities of making money from online auctions.
Once you become proficient at selling on eBay you might consider approaching companies and manufacturers who are willing to provide you with supplies of their products for you to sell on their behalf. Providing you can negotiate a suitable selling fee with room for a good profit margin, then finding a niche product that proves to be popular can lead you to a goldmine.
Some ebayers are turning over tens of thousands of dollars in revenue every month! Some have even closed down their offline trading premises to trade solely on eBay. Such is the success of the eBay phenomenon.
The most successful merchants on eBay are known as ‘power sellers’ Next time you visit eBay look out for the power sellers and take notice of how they run their business. Take particular note of how they promote their products using powerful descriptive headlines and text, as well as high quality images that showcase their products to the best advantage. Their excellent after sales service and customer relations help them achieve a top feedback rating which builds trust among new and old customers alike, who are happy to deal with them again and again. Emulate their success by following the same techniques and principles they employ to make big sales!

7. Subscription websites
Finally we come to what I believe is an under-developed opportunity to make money online ... subscription websites!
Subscription websites, often referred to as membership sites, are becoming increasingly popular with people willing to pay a regular subscription to access information that is difficult to find elsewhere. Other types of site that often use the subscription model are sites that provide a specialised service, or make available a library of useful content. Internet dating sites and image libraries are two prime examples.
Anyone who can provide a unique service or specialised information in a niche market could set up a subscription website. By signing up new members on an annual or monthly payment plan, you could soon build up a sizeable income. For example, let’s say you’re a bit of an expert on how to make money from property development. You could set up a site that gives free information on this subject, but only allows paying members access to your private membership site. This would be a secure area which can only be entered using a username and a password. It would contain those ‘closely guarded secrets’ that only your expert knowledge and experience can reveal. Only subscribers would then have access to the most effective methods and shortcuts on how to succeed in the lucrative property development business.
This is just for illustrative purposes of course. But anyone who has a passion and expert knowledge of a hobby or business could set up their own subscription website, providing they know how to go about it. Fortunately there are some very good resources and examples of how to start and run a subscription site.
One of the best sources of information is Membership Site Advisor which offers membership site management tools. Subscribing to their service will give you access to the information and tools you need to set your site up.
Also take a look at Bill Myers Online. Bill has produced an all-in-one solution that enables a company or any individual to set up their own membership site online. It’s called ‘Membergate’ and is an excellent product.
Bill made a fortune from his skill as a product developer. His website is a superb resource for anyone interested in product development. Whether it’s a simple ebook or professional DVD production, there’s a ton of information here that can help you succeed with producing and marketing your own products.
The most important ingredient of course is to have a target market. If there isn’t enough people out there who will be interested in what you have to offer, then you’re unlikely to succeed in your venture. It’s important to do some research first to find out if there will be a demand. One way to do this is to use Overture’s search term tool. Overture provides information on how many searches were done on a specific keyword or phrase. For example, at the time of writing I did a search for ‘dog breeding’ and there were 16,943 related searches carried out during the previous month. However, ‘dog breeding’ is a fairly generic term, so if you specialised in breeding boxer dogs then the results would be much lower but highly targeted towards a niche market.
So let’s assume there’s enough demand and little competition in your chosen category, after setting up your site, the next step would be to attract subscribers. To do this you would need to generate a lot of good quality traffic to your site. By good quality I mean carefully targeted traffic which consists mainly of visitors who are definitely interested in what you have to offer. Not everyone will sign up of course, but the more focused your advertising campaign is, the more likely you are to receive good quality traffic.
Using some of the methods oulined above will produce good results. PPC (pay per click) advertising on Google and Overture for example.Viral marketing using free giveaway ebooks that offer useful information and a good introduction the benefits of subscribing to your site.E-zines and newsletters that promote your service. Either produce your own or choose existing publications that are suitable to advertise in. Affiliate programs. Find affiliates who are eager to promote your membership subscriptions on a commission basis. And of course, let’s not forget to mention search engine optimisation which is essential if you want your site to rank highly in the search engines.(See resources list below for more information)
Once set up and running, in order to maintain and increase subscriptions, it’s important to continue to provide a first class service. If you don’t give your members a good reason to return to your site regularly then your venture will fail. Always provide a high quality service and good content. Information and services that people can use to their benefit will ensure that they continue their membership, and hopefully recommend you to their friends. In conclusion
I have given you some insight into the methods which I consider to be the seven best ways to make money online. There are other ways of course, but these are the ones that I would recommend to anyone looking for new ways to boost their income with their online business, or for newbies just starting out.
Ok, I hear you say. It’s all very well having your own website and knowing which methods work best to make money online, but how do I get people to visit my site?
That’s a good point! If you can’t reach a big enough audience, or target the people who are actively seeking the products or service you’re trying to promote, then you’re hardly going to succeed. But the fact is there’s an endless source of free information online which explains how to get visitors to your website. From how to achieve a high search engine ranking to the simple technique of getting link exchanges, there are many ways to choose from. One way to get more visitors to your site if you’re starting out on a shoestring budget is to join some of the better startpage programs which send free hits to your website when you open your browser a set number of times (usually 1 hit for every 2 times you open your browser). By joining a select few of these programs and recommending others to do the same, you can soon begin generating extra hits to your site. One of the programs I can recommend is Trafficswarm.
If you’re serious about making money online then the methods outlined above are the ones that are most likely to succeed. And there’s nothing to stop you implementing all seven of these methods to create multiple streams of income. Forget about ‘paid to read emails’ and the like, either set up your own website or e-zine and promote it vigorously, applying the methods described above. Or put the same effort into promoting SFI or selling a niche market product on eBay
Then, if you try hard enough, you will succeed at making money online!
